32 Weeks

My sister took pictures. It was windy, the sun was going down, and the camera battery died. But considering the circumstances, they turned out well. Thanks for the good times Shelli. Let's do it again. When I'm in the hospital. And the babe wants to arrive :)

32 weeks

The babe can arrive in the next 5-8 weeks. Can you believe how soon that is? Time to stock up on the essentials. We have the big stuff (i.e. crib, car seat, stroller) but now we need to invest in diapers and wipes and clothes and all the fun stuff. I still need to rearrange, paint, sew, and figure out a middle name, but we've got time...

The nurse this week told me that I am awesome basically. I took my sugar test last time and they said everything came back great, my iron levels are good and so is my blood pressure and no swelling. Awesome. The doc measured my belly and kept telling me that I am teeny tiny, but he isn't concerned because she is still growing and her heart beat is good. They also want me to count how frequently she moves. She needs to be move distinctively 10 times within a 15 minute period. I just laughed. How about 10 times in one minute? Is that healthy? She is definitely an active one. Probably no thanks to the brownies and ice cream I have been consuming this week.

Funny moments of pregnancy within the last little bit.

*Some mornings I look in the mirror and tell Merrill that I am feeling skinny. The belly is just a way of life these days.

*Sometimes I forget that I have a belly and turn to my side to get through a small space. Fail. I do not become smaller by turning to the side.

*I have been having dreams lately that I no longer have my belly. I think I am just snuggling with Merrill at nights and feel his hips and think they are mine.

The babe at 31+ weeks

She has decided to grow A LOT within the last week or so. I think she liked vacation. She is moving all of the time which is delightful...except at 3:00 in the morning. Still hasn't been in the ribs, but I am waiting for it. I have fully embraced dresses. So comfortable and cool. The wedding ring still fits no problem and I still have an inny belly button. I thank my appendectomy for stitching up my belly button in the 7th grade because I don't think it will ever become an outie.

I am in the process of making the crib bumpers and skirt. I think that should be finished by the end of the week, which is awesome. More to come on that later I'm sure.

As for Merrill, he has taken full advantage of not having to shave now that he is done with school. I am sad we didn't get a picture of it before he shaved today. It was getting pretty thick. At least for him.

Less than 9 weeks til the babe arrives!

Vacation Time

The past couple of days have been spent in the sun. We took a little trip to Vegas for a getaway. Happy 2 year anniversary, happy graduation, happy babymoon to us! It was nice to just hang out for a couple of days after finals. I got my sun in and Merrill got his sports watching/reading/shopping in.

Me and the babe soaking in the sun. Truth be told I spent more time in the water than I did just laying out.
Merrill couldn't get enough of the Nike store. If I wasn't with him, I am pretty sure he would've spent the whole day there.
We sunned and shopped and walked a lot. It was blissful. But now we are back to the real world. And only two more months until the babe arrives!

M&M factory anyone?

Graduation

No big deal, we just graduated from college on Friday.
College.
Graduation.
We.
Did.
It.
Well, Merrill did it officially and I still have to complete an internship in the fall, but we walked together so it's all good.

While at BYU:

We survived freshman year, lack of sleep, crazy roommates, all night studying, procrastination, weird professors, lengthy papers, and everything in between.

We played frisbee, wrote papers, did crosswords, ate Cafe Rio, went on walks, decided we liked each other, planned a wedding, got married.

We took a lengthy road trip, moved a couple times, grilled in the snow, decided we wanted a new addition to the family, had leaks in our house, got flooded out, managed to stay somewhat sane.

We finished up with a degree in American Studies and double minor in English and History AND a degree in Recreation Management with a Therapeutic Recreation emphasis and minor in Gerontology.

We passed economics, psychological statistics, anatomy and drawing.

Oh, and who knew that a cap and gown could be so slimming...?

Done. Done. And done.

I took my last final of my college career. And I think I made it throughout college without getting below a B-. Way to go me.

28 weeks and stuff

So yeah, it has been practically three weeks since you were last graced with my belly. You've all been dying to see it I'm sure.
She is still moving a ton, which makes me happy and Merrill quite enjoys putting his hand on my belly to feel her move.
I have been utilizing the rubber band as well as the belly band for pants and have recently purchased a couple of maternity tops because my shirts aren't really long enough to cover my lengthy torso with the addition of the belly. Large maternity tops also make you feel smaller than you are because they are so huge.
What else...my wedding ring still fits fine and the doc claims I have a little swelling in my ankles, but nothing big. Also the babe is measuring a little small, but he didn't seem concerned about it.

As for my emotional stability, well that is questionable...
The last couple of weeks have brought on the unexplained tears. I am actually surprised I have not cried more throughout this whole process.
And today. Oh today. Merrill and I were driving in a parking lot that had speed bumps. I was pouring ice into my water bottle and Merrill hit one of the speed bumps. I was not expecting it and immediately shouted, "What the...why didn't you warn me there was going to be a bump?!" Then I start laughing hysterically because I realized how irrational I just sounded. Why would he need to warn me there was a speed bump ahead? I apologized and just kept laughing. Poor husband has to deal with me being all crazy and stuff. At least I recognize I am being irrational...?

Also, apparently it is the cool thing to take Easter pictures. I missed the memo on Easter to take pictures, so I figure our "last-day-at-BYU" pictures will work out as our family Easter pictures.
